The Domes Poster - Final.
The goal of this project was to create a poster that appealed to college students, in an attempt to encourage them to go to the location I picked. Before designing the poster, research was conducted, and rough thumbs were created:
Research:
To begin the project, I visited the location I selected: The Domes, located in Casa Grande AZ. While there I became familiar with the area, while paying attention to the sounds, and feelings I experienced. Based on the location, I began brainstorming ideas for my poster.
Brainstorming:
In this section I created a mind map of all ideas associated with my location. This helped me consider possible elements for my poster.
Rough Thumbs Part 1:
In this part of the project I began to sketch out possible poster designs.
Rough Thumbs Part 2:
I began to expand on rough thumbs that I liked, and considered them as possible poster designs. After selecting design #4, I began to create my full sized poster:
The Finished Product:
I created this poster by painting with black paint on 18"x24" poster board. Using tools such as painters tape, various paint brushes, and a blow dryer, I created the final version of rough thumb #4. The goal of the poster was to keep the location mysterious. I wanted to just communicate the name, so that people who are really searching for adventure will seek it and pursue it. The Domes are a very mysterious location, and they will remain like that.
